Nathan Walsh
BMus, Director of Music In Schools
As a professional musician and educator Nathan Walsh has taught piano, guitar, music theory and song writing to students of all ages, abilities and interests from classical pianists to rock guitarists, aspiring film composers and budding songwriters.
Through his versatile career in the field of musical education Nathan has had extensive experience in the AMEB, Trinity and HSC Music syllabus and taught at various special needs schools where he has helped children with a range of physical and mental conditions through a specially designed music programme.
As an undergraduate Nathan studied a Bachelor of Music at The Australian Institute of Music and majored in contemporary performance. He has had the opportunity to attend master classes with renowned musicians including Tommy Emmanuel, Evermore and Berklee song writing lecturer Pat Pattison.
Nathan’s professional ventures as a musician have seen him working on many different projects. As an original artist Nathan has written and co-written and recorded on multiple albums across many different genres. As a session musician Nathan has had the opportunity to perform and work alongside highly renowned artists including previous contestants from ‘The Voice, ‘X Factor’ and three time Grammy award winner ‘Sergio Mendes’.
It is Nathan’s vision that every child across Australia has access to learning an instrument so that they too may find the joy in music.
The teachers at ‘Music In Schools’ are passionate experts in their given field. All of them have studied their chosen instrument at a tertiary level and are industry professionals.
